The lion’s ear was broken off and red paint was splashed all over the shrine, according to a release by the school.

The site has been fenced off and closed to all graduation photos.

The lion wasn’t the only thing the vandal’s damaged, Old Main and the Hintz Family Alumni Center were also covered in red paint.

“These are profoundly disturbing acts, at a time when many families are taking photos and celebrating the educational accomplishments of their graduates,” officials said in a statement Sunday night.
